Spain’s National 5G Plan for 2018-2020 specify that during 2019, pilot projects based on 5G will be developed resulting in the release of the second digital dividend. In 2019 we will witness many blockchain projects that will try to beat technical challenges in different fields like banking and insurance. It will also be a deciding year for the roll-out of decentralized organizations that will work with intelligent contracts.

A digital twin is a virtual model of a real-world system or entity. Gartner predicts that there will be more than 20 billion sensors connected to endpoints by 2020, but the consultatory firm goes on to point out that there will also be digital twins for thousands upon thousands of these solutions, with the express purpose of controlling their behavior. First, organizations will apply these replicas, which will continue to be developed over time, improving their ability to compile and visualize the right data, make improvements, and respond effectively to business objectives.

6. R+ Technology

Advances in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR), all of which can be sum up in R+, will continue to be at the forefront of attention during 2019 with some enchanting new practical applications for industries. R+, which once was only found in video gaming has been gaining grounds to become a useful tool in industries such as engineering design, healthcare, manufacturing, space exploration, and many others.

7. Global Internet of Things (IoT)

Analyst firm Gartner predicts that 20.4 billion connected things will be in use worldwide by 2020. And with the rise of autonomous things - will call this the Internet of Autonomous Things - there is a good opportunity that many of these things will show a certain level of weak security. In 2019, it will be outstanding for IoT manufacturers and all of their supply chain to dramatically increase the security in all the products that come out to market.
